Micron

Since its launch in 2019, Micron has grown from strength to strength. In a short span, the company has secured key contracts and expanded to a team of nearly 20, operating from our premises at Channel House in Green Street.

Founded by Jason Doherty in 2018, Micron has quickly positioned itself as a prominent player in the M&E (Mechanical and Electrical) and, more recently, the Energy services sector.

We approach every project with meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to impeccable service. Our success is a direct result of the dedication and ambition of our highly skilled team, which includes electrical inspectors, electricians, apprentices, and a dedicated admin staff. This passion and drive are reflected in our rapid growth and expansion.

Having started on the electrical side, the company has developed two further divisions, Micron Building Services and Micron Energy Services.

Micron Building Services

Taking the stress out of the project, offering a design service and producing samples and drawings for clients to review. Sourcing tradespeople, co-ordinating the project and working with their own team and trusted sub-contractors to carry out the work.

Micron Energy Services Limited

Micron Energy Services is a newly incorporated company which falls under the umbrella of companies owned by Micron Group being Micron M&E Services Limited and Micron Building Services Limited.

Micron Energy Services goal is to become a leading name in sustainability and to help Jersey become more energy efficient by using less energy to perform the same task or produce the same result in domestic and commercial areas.

We note the industry is expanding and maturing in energy efficiency, sustainability, and eco-friendly construction with plenty of room for growth and development for many businesses.

Micron Energy Services main objective was to provide electric car owners a reliable EV charging experience. We are in partnership with Van Mossel Jacksons group. What this means is, at point of electric/hybrid vehicle sale, Jacksons and Motor Mall customers will be offered to finance an EV charger. Included in the price will be a survey, EV charger installation and ongoing monitoring and help desk. The cost will be added to their current finance agreement. The Jacksons group approached us as our customer focus and ability is second to none. Our ethos for a sustainable Island is paramount to the service we provide.

Meet The Team

Jason Doherty

Founder / Director

Jason is the CEO/MD of Micron M&E Services.

His journey in the electrical trade started back in 1993 as a young apprentice electrician, but his passion began even earlier. As a young boy, Jason had this funny obsession with figuring out if the fridge light stayed on when the door closed. It’s one of those moments that still makes him smile today, because, in a way, it was the spark that led him to where he is today.

As small as it sounds, Micron was already forming in his young mind.

Jason thrives on building relationships. Leading Micron is not just a job for Jason, for him it’s a daily calling. His focus is simple but powerful: to do the best and to be recognised for it.

Jason loves to travel, socialise and one of is favourite things is spending time with his wife and two sons.

Louise Harvey-Simmons

Chief Operations Officer

Louise has over 20 years background in travel management including sales, tour operating & project management.

More recently over 10 years in multi-functional office management roles including HR & Accounts. She is super organised and structured, looking at daily operational issues ensuring all areas of the business run efficient and effectively.

She is a mum to two teenage children, she loves reading, cooking, spending time with her family, she is a keen runner, and has completed two half marathons in the past 3 years.

Leanne Fitzgerald-Wilkins

Group Business Development Manager

Leanne is passionate about sales, building partnerships, has drive and enthusiasm.

She began her career in the travel industry and quickly advanced from trainee to manager to area manager. In more recent years she has worked for local media companies. Her role at Micron is very much client focused, engaging with businesses and homeowners/landlords about adopting Eco-friendly practices with the support of available government grants.

Her proudest achievement is marrying her best friend, Jason, who she has known since she was seven and raising their four children.

Leanne relocated from South Wales to Jersey in the summer of 2017.

She loves spending time with her family, needs to see the sea at least once a day, partial to a glass of gin and is a qualified netball coach.

Tim Le Lère

Electrical Manager

Tim has been working in the electrical world since he was fourteen.

He is keen to keep learning and rarely get bored as technology advances, he finds it great to embrace the new innovations and potential benefits and share with customers.

Core focus is energy, efficiency and environment, he thrives on the daily challenges and enjoy helping the enthusiastic, young team members to learn the art of problem solving.

Outside of work he enjoys the outdoors – going for walks, and finding new places in Jersey to explore with his family.
